Alfredo updates Portland City Council on the Greater Portland Sustainability Education Network's College Network on May 17 AM session
Alfredo collaborated with students to bring four woman, professionals, of color to a forum on diversity and equity in the workplace.
Alfredo was a panelist that national conference seeking to get diverse youth into environmental field, Mobilize Green, hosted at the City of Oakland. He was there representing the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability.
Community of Practice is a group of concerned students and professionals that met in 2015 to consider how planners in Oregon can help advance the practice of not causing gentrification-caused displacement, particularly associated with public transportation investments.
Our white paper was published in the Oregon Chapter of the American Planners Association journal on December 2016. Portland State University, a university in the state of Oregon, had invested part of their endowment on oil, coal and gas. Alfredo help lead a campaign which moved the PSU Foundation to adopt investment policy statements, that analyze environmental, social, and governance risks.
Students from the Pacific Northwest gather as part of a national campaign, their goal, divest college funds from fossil fuel companies. The gathering was featured in the PSU website.
