Alfredo Gonzalez VAlenzuela

Picture
Born in Cusco, Peru, Alfredo spent his childhood in the “belly button of the world”. Nearly 3,400 meters above sea, the beautiful, stormy, and culture-rich city is more famously known for being home to the Incas.

He is the eldest of three, and son of an immigrant couple aspired to live the American Dream. After adapting, and spending sometime in the San Francisco area, an environmental science class elevated his awareness of environmental degradation after high school. Alfredo then moved to Portland in the state of Oregon, to start his professional career in the field of sustainability.

Alfredo Gonzalez Valenzuela (AGV), earned an Environmental Science degree from Portland State University, and currently works for the City of Portland Bureau of Planning & Sustainability. He is currently enrolled in a Masters of Business Administration in Sustainable systems at Presidio Graduate School. Alfredo spends my time playing futbol, traveling, cooking, DJing and spending time in nature.

He actively works to build a community full of culture, resiliency, and giving people opportunities to get out of poverty, end hunger, and fight for human rights. He keeps a close look at the practices of main stream environmental movement in order to provide a just transition, by centering and leading with front-line communities who have been, currently are, and will continue to be impacted by, climate change.
